About the space
This rebuilt old stable has been converted into a 140sqm retreat, blending rustic charm with modern comforts. Restored wooden floors run throughout, with a well-appointed kitchenette and updated bathroom facilities for guests. Large windows flood the space with natural light and magnificent escarpment views — a tranquil escape that honours its history.
The Old Stables’ charming ambiance and flexible space make it a fitting choice for romantic weddings, focused corporate retreats, rejuvenating yoga sessions, or spirited sporting group meetups. We cater from the Megalong Valley Tearooms and Megalong, and the venue is available for hire on its own or as part of a package with a Werriberri stay.

Logistics
Getting here
- Location
- Megalong Valley, Blue Mountains, NSW. Around two hours by car from Sydney, and 15 minutes from Blackheath.
- Parking
- At the Old Stables, self-drive parking can be organised on site for larger events, with designated walking pathways to the venue. Guests can also arrive and leave by chartered bus, and there is plenty of room for buses to park. At the Restaurant, self-drive guests can use the designated parking area, but space is limited, so we recommend a chartered bus.
- Accessibility
- Guests with limited mobility can park close to either venue, the Restaurant or the Old Stables. Both are on ground level, with no stairs. One of our cottages (Cottage 6) has ramp access. Let us know when you book.
- Capacity
- Up to 80 seated for dining, 100 for a standing reception or 100 seated theatre-style in the Old Stables. The lawn takes weddings of up to 150.
- Wifi and AV
- There is no permanent wifi at the Old Stables, but a mobile Starlink connection can be set up for your event, and we can cater to AV needs.

“Cabin was lovely and well provided for. Across the road from the Tea Rooms so we were able to get breakfast easily. Location is beautiful and quiet - walk over to the field in the early morning (or dusk) for some kangaroo sightings! Also, the grounds have some easy trails to walk along and one leads to a little waterfall!”
