The mountains

Scenic World

A short drive from the estate to the region's cable cars, skyway and railway — a different vantage on the same escarpment you can already see from the veranda.

A cable car travels above lush green forest and hills, with metal cables stretching across the scene and distant Blue Mountains under a cloudy sky, an inspiring reason to visit Scenic World Blue Mountains. | Werriberri

Thirty minutes from the estate gate, the same valley you have been walking through all week suddenly appears beneath your feet, through the floor of a cable car.

The estate can arrange transfers to and from Scenic World, or guests are welcome to self-drive using the route provided at check-in. Either way, the drive itself is part of the shift in perspective — leaving the close, folded hills of the Megalong for the open drop of the Jamison Valley.

The railway, skyway and cableway each offer a different angle on the same escarpment — the steepest railway in the world dropping you into the rainforest floor, the skyway suspending you over it, and the cableway tracing the cliff line back up. Tickets are booked directly with Scenic World, an independent operator, and aren’t included in the estate rate.

Most guests treat it as a half-day detour rather than a full day out — enough time to see the escarpment from the other side before the drive back down into the quiet of the Megalong.

Begin your story in the Valley.
